Finding Someone’s Vital Records

If you are searching for someone it may be critical to your search that you locate their vital records. These include their Birth Certificate, Driver License Number, Vehicle Identification Number, Military Service Record Number and a host of other data elements. 

While having this group of information does not do anything for you by themselves, they are often part and parcel to a host of related searches. This becomes almost mandatory if you are seeking contact information on a stranger. There are a host of valid reasons why you might be searching for a total stranger.   If that is the case you will need to start blind and get as much information as you can.

Starting with their name, make a list of all the data you have on the person – no matter how trivial it may seem.  This may seem very laborious at first – and it certainly is. The fruit of all this labor is to begin to execute searches online and by mail that require multiple pieces of identification data. One of these should certainly be an address search.

Start all the free searches you can, using the name of the person to get their SSN. Normally the Social Security Number is the primary piece of information that you will need – especially when you get into all the searches of public information. These include Arrest Records, Tax Liens, Convictions, Legal Judgments, Foreclosures, etc.

This may sound like an unlikely search but you may also want to initiate searches for the name of their spouse and children.The value here is often simply corroboration of related data when you do get a hit.

If you do not mind fibbing a little you can often get a target Birth Certificate by mail. Once you have this kind of data you can begin to spread out your searches and get other vital records.  Again, the subject area of your searches for vital records will be public information.Every State now supports online access to public access to criminal and judicial judgments.

Searching for Military Records requires similar ‘creativity’ in terms of you approach to certain databases.If the target was in the Military and you are relatively sure of the branch, you can often get data from the Military Buddies type of website.

All of this is critical information needs to be verified and collated. Again, you will have to get creative in this process as well in you want to find a person .  Then you will have the initial set of vital records that can be instrumental in finding current access, address, phone, and email on your target person.  If you continue to strike out you should consider using a people finder.
